TEDxPraça Gil Eanes is the pioneer TEDx event in Lagos, bringing together inspiring speakers from local and expat communities in the Algarve and beyond.
This event will be held in both English and Portuguese, with live translation available. Expect a day of thought-provoking talks, networking, and fresh ideas that challenge perspectives and spark connections.

Hosted at Centro Cultural de Lagos, a vibrant venue known for art, music, and cultural events, TEDxPraça Gil Eanes takes place in the heart of historic Lagos.
Named after the square which celebrates Gil Eanes, the fearless explorer who first sailed beyond Cape Bojador, TEDxPraça Gil Eanes embodies the spirit of discovery.
With stunning beaches, rich culture, and a diverse community, Lagos is the perfect backdrop for an event that connects and inspires.

Elena Dimitrova
Licensee, Organiser, Head of Marketing & Curator
Elena Dimitrova is a freelance marketer and photographer with over a decade of experience helping brands and individuals share their stories.
Elena is a dreamer, adventure seeker, nature lover and someone who loves collecting and sharing inspiration.
In 2015, she ran TEDxBournemouth University in the UK, themed “Creativity Illumination”.
Now, 10 years later, Elena is really excited to organise another TEDx event, this time in the Algarve, which she proudly calls home.

Organiser, Head of Finance, Host & Curator
Simone CR is a coffee enthusiast, proud mama, global expat, and passionate entrepreneur. She thrives on building community and meaningful connections, believing that everyone has a story worth sharing.
With nearly two decades of experience helping businesses around the world grow and succeed, Simone is dedicated to making a positive impact.
She believes that by coming together, we can achieve more creating a better world through collaboration, compassion, and shared purpose.
Whether she’s sipping coffee in a new city or mentoring entrepreneurs, Simone brings heart, vision, and a love for helping others succeed.
Marta Dinis
Community Connector
Marta Dinis is from Lagos and is very passionate about her city. She believes in the power of the community as a driver of economic development, that it is from the creation of a strong network of contacts that business ideas grow.
Marta is an Entrepreneurship Coach at the Lagos Entrepreneur Factory, where she supports and empowers entrepreneurs, local businesses and startups, helping them to thrive in an ever-changing market, offering guidance, training and opportunities for collaboration and growth.
When she's not supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into impactful projects, Marta enjoys reading, spending time with her children and connecting with people who want to evolve.

Hello, my name is Breno, but I'm also known as Carioka. I'm from Brazil, specifically Rio de Janeiro, but part of my heritage is Portuguese. I moved to Portugal in August 2019 with my family.
I had my first experience with video in 2016 when I started a gaming channel on YouTube. Since then, I’ve been diving deeper into the field and falling in love with the world of cinema.
Today, I work as a Filmmaker, but also as a Producer and Content Director for companies’ social media. I handle the entire creative process and profile development for clients, focusing on innovation and creativity.

I have been translating from and to both languages for over 15 years and I'm still learning!

I'm from Guimarães, the birthplace of Portugal, and currently live in the Algarve, where I dedicate my career to teaching Portuguese to foreigners.
With a background in Tourism, I have worked with students of various nationalities, helping them developing their language skills and better understand the country they have chosen to live in.
I have always had a great passion for learning new languages, which allows me to understand the difficulties and challenges my students face. I believe that learning a new language is more than memorizing words and grammar rules - it's opening doors to new cultures and ways of seeing the world.

My name is Endzhe (people know me as Angie).
Mostly everyone sees me like this, with a phone or camera in my hands.
I shoot content for different types of activities, my strong point is shooting and editing videos that are memorable for the audience and that they want to watch again and again.
I also teach anyone interested in video shooting and editing using only a phone.

In the spirit of discovering and spreading ideas, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
Our event is called TEDxPraça Gil Eanes, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxPraça Gil Eanes event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
