Our theme, Metamorphosis, draws inspiration from the humble caterpillar - a creature that must break down completely in order to transform.
But did you know that less than 2% of caterpillars actually become butterflies?
The rest never make it past the challenges of growth. And yet, those who do… fly.
Much like the natural world, our human journey is full of uncomfortable transitions, uncertain middles, and surprising evolutions.
Whether it’s personal, societal, or global, change asks for resilience, creativity, and trust.
This event will be a space to honor the process. The moments that stretch us. The stories that shape us. The beauty that comes not despite change, but because of it.

Our event is called TEDxPraça Gil Eanes, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxPraça Gil Eanes event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
